Briefly describe your program.
The Northern Utah Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMINUC) is a dynamic group of project managers, professionals, and area business leaders who have been servicing the state of Utah since 1997. We are committed to increasing the level of professionalism in project management and creating a greater awareness to our profession. Since the chapter’s inception 25 years ago, the chapter has grown to over 1500 members representing more than 500 Utah corporations and businesses.
As stated in the Chapter Bylaws, the purposes of the chapter are to:
- Foster professionalism in the management of projects.
- Identify and promote the fundamentals of project management and advance the best practices for managing successful projects.
- Provide a recognized forum for free exchange of ideas, applications, and solutions to project management challenges.
- Stimulate the application of project management to the benefit of industry and the public.
- Collaborate with educational institutions to encourage education and career development at all levels in project management.
- Disseminate information regarding advancements in project management within the Chapter’s area of operation.
- Foster growth of Chapter membership and commitment to local project management professionals through on-going recruiting plans and providing benefits to our members.
- Promote professional project management principles, processes, and techniques with local businesses, governments, educational institutions, professional associations, and non-profit organizations.
The majority of our chapter membership works and/or lives in Northern Utah and consists of students, Project Managers, Scrum Masters, Business Analysts, PMO Managers, Program Managers, a handful of Directors and Executives, and several other project management-adjacent positions. We find that this diversity of thought and experience helps to create meaningful experiences for our membership as we network with and learn from each other.
