Briefly describe your program.
I requested the auditorium last week and my request was denied, I believe because I used the word "training" in the description, which led to a misinterpretation of what this is. I read the terms and conditions, where it states that the room may not be used to "recruit or train staff members or others for work in or on behalf of a commercial enterprise". That is not at all what this is.
We are a group of volunteer coaches - not one of us is paid, and all the of the funds collected by our organization are used to purchase riding kits for our high school aged riders. We are not affiliated with the high schools, and do not have any funds we can dedicate to paying for a commercial conference space. In the past we have met outdoors at a park, but have had to deal with bad weather conditions. This is why we are hoping the library will allow us to use the indoor public space.
The purpose of this meeting is to share critical information that our volunteer coaches will need in order to lead a successful season of teaching and coaching 100+ kids in learning how to ride bikes in a group and racing environment. Our purpose is to benefit kids, for no financial reward of our own. We hope the library will allow us to use the space in order to help us achieve that goal.
