Briefly describe your program.
A²: Always Alive In Our Hearts, is a local, in person, open peer support group for immediate families who have lost a child. Sharing resources for people who have lost a child.
The mission statement of A² is to build hope, foster connection and family resilience, while providing an outlet to express love & share memories. This scheduled open house is the first event where families can come and get a feel for what will be offered in future group gatherings. They will have a chance to fill out a needs assessment, participate in various memory making/sharing activities as well as socialize and enjoy light refreshments. For activities: we will have small stations set up with no mess sensory items, quiet music instruments, simple craft (cut, paste, tie) and expressive art (writing/drawing) projects. Guests will come and go at their convenience. We will also be using the west grass area for a movement activity if allowed.
